About the Data

This EzLicence study evaluates the average price learner drivers paid per lesson hour booked through the EzLicence platform. The results highlight the most and least expensive suburbs to take driving lessons in a respective region, city or state.

The primary data includes only localities whose lessons were booked through the EzLicence platform. The analysis covers over 2,500 suburbs across NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS, WA and ACT. There is no data on the Northern Territory as EzLicence currently doesn’t operate in this state.

All prices given are a calculated average dollar cost for each hour booked on the platform in $AUD, inclusive of GST. The 2024 price averages are generated from monthly averages between January 1, 2024 - May 19, 2024 inclusive. Data shown at suburban level has been filtered for a minimum of 10 booking hours.

The statistics contained in this study are exclusively sourced as first-party data. Comparisons with data from alternative sources, such as government statistics, may yield variations due to differences in data collection methodologies.

Disclaimer: Total booking hours vary per location - this data is marked sensitive and has not been made available. The presence of limited samples, particularly for suburban categorisation, may slightly skew results for price averages, therefore this data may limit exact representation of pricing.
