What is the Road Rules Theory Test?
The Road Rules Theory Test is a computer-based test which has 30 questions. The questions are based on four chapters of the ‘Drive Safe handbook’. You’ll have to book and complete the test at a Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) centre or regional agent.
How do you pass the Learners Permit Test?
You’ll need to answer 24 out of 30 questions correctly to pass the Road Rules Theory Test. To pass the test you’ll need to study all of the ‘Drive Safe handbook’.
Eyesight Test
Good eyesight is essential for safe driving so when you go to sit your Road Rules Theory Test your eyesight will be also tested. You are required to read a Snellen chart from the top line down, first with one eye covered and then with the other, and lastly with both eyes uncovered. More than two errors in reading the letters of any line is regarded as a failure to read that line.
Drive Safe Handbook
The ‘Drive Safe’ handbook is published by Department of Transport (WA). This handbook is a comprehensive guide to the road rules that apply in Western Australia.
